What I collect and why

When you contact me

If you fill in the enquiry form, email me, ring me or message me on WhatsApp, I collect your name, business name, phone number, email address and whatever you tell me about your business. I use it for one thing only: to reply to you and, if we work together, to carry out the work.

If you message me on WhatsApp, your message is carried and stored by WhatsApp, which is part of Meta, under their own terms and privacy policy rather than mine. Messages are encrypted end to end, so Meta cannot read them, but they do hold the fact that you messaged me and when. If you would rather that didn’t happen, use the form, email or the phone instead — all three reach me just as fast.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests — responding to someone who has asked me to get in touch — and, once we agree to work together, performance of a contract.

How long I keep it: if we don’t end up working together, two years, in case you come back. If we do, six years after the last invoice, because HMRC requires business records to be kept.

When you browse the site

I use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without cookies and without tracking anyone across the internet. It tells me how many people visited a page and roughly where in the world they were. It does not identify you, and no data is sold or shared with advertisers.

Because of this, there is no cookie banner on this site. There is nothing to consent to.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that provide the technical services behind this site, and only so far as they need to: my website host, my email provider, my analytics provider, and — if you choose to message me that way — WhatsApp. They act on my instructions and cannot use your information for their own purposes.

I do not sell your information. I do not share it with advertisers. I will only hand it to anyone else if the law requires me to.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:

• Tell you what information I hold about you, and give you a copy
• Correct anything that’s wrong
• Delete it
• Stop or limit what I do with it
• Send it to you or someone else in a portable format
• Object to me processing it on the basis of legitimate interests

Email me at hello@kieranedwards.co.uk and I’ll deal with it within one month. It costs you nothing.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first and I’ll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If I change this notice I’ll update the date at the top.
