Edwards & Co Websites that bring in work

Work

Every one of these is a live site you can click into and use on your own phone. Screenshots are easy to flatter; working websites aren’t.

Placeholder — replace before launch. Add each new project here as you finish it. Aim for different sectors so a prospect can see themselves in one. Anything built as a demonstration rather than for a paying client must stay labelled “Concept redesign” — that costs you nothing and protects you completely. Delete this note before launch.

Colbrook R&B — Rolls-Royce & Bentley specialists, Peakirk

The problem. A single page of about sixty words. The phone number was not on it at all — you had to navigate to a separate page to find it, for a business where almost every enquiry is a phone call. Two different phone numbers appeared in different places, one digit apart. Thirty years of history and the fact they took on Bentley work after Bentley Cambridge closed were buried three clicks down.

What I did. Rebuilt as five pages, each targeting a different search. Phone number in the header of every page as a tappable link. Named the two technicians on the home page — in a workshop business, who holds the spanner is the product. Wrote out six services, including pre-purchase inspection and recommissioning, which were not advertised anywhere.

The result. Whole site 72KB. Every model they cover now listed so an owner can find their own car. The two-phone-number error found and flagged before it cost another enquiry.

A note on the demonstration pieces. Some of the work above was built to show what a business’s website could look like, rather than for a paying client. Those are labelled “concept redesign”. They’re real, working sites — they’re just not live for that business, and no connection is implied.
